Probably the most major event was the attack of the Spanish Armada on England, also the Treaty of Berwick between England and Scotland, the establishment of the Anglican Church, the execution of Mary, Queen of Scots, the Peace of Troys between England and France, Francis Drake circumnavigated the world, slave trading began with the Guinea Company, the Black Death (bubonic Plague) sweeps Europe, and lots of other things - there was a lot happening in the world in the 16th century!
