To be honest, we take these animal for granted. I know we say to keep the population down, but what if these animals shortly become extinct, what are we going to do then eh?
What would we do if the situation was vise versa, we were poor animals being killed, what if we had children and had to keep them going? I am completely against the idea of hunting, it's extremely cruel, tradition or not tradition.

A big part of hunting is for the thrill, yes. However, hunters and anglers contribute more to wildlife than perhaps others who do not participate in purchasing licenses, guns, ammo, fishing poles, other equipment, park passes, etc... The majority of the money that hunters spend in order to be able to hunt in the short, regulated hunting season is used to help wildlife. Do your research and you can see that deer and elk population, as well as bear and many other wildlife species populations were down early 20th century. With a big help from State Wildlife Departments, as well as hunters and anglers, populations are on the rise. There is a reason there are regulations on the amount of time allowed to hunt certain species. Deer hunting for example has 3 to 4 short seasons in the early winter to help with overpopulation, but not so long to endanger the species as someone else had commented what if  we kill off the species. Once again research and see the numbers. Hunters help animals more than they hurt them. Regulations are also set on ammunition so animals don't suffer. What's more cruel? Going out quickly and as painless as possible, or slowly from starvation due to overpopulation?

The only reason for hunting for me is meat, I have to feed my family, if the husband bags meat, I put it up, anything other than that is extremely cruel. I have seen clips of men that pay other men to catch and deliver an animal just to hunt. I was appaulled when I saw that.

Yea, canned hunting is disgraceful. Its even worse when they drug the animal up so it can't run or fight back.

I agree, I don't get the whole hunting thing myself either..I think its cruel. Especially those hunters that hunt on a fenced in reserve. The animals have no chance then. I guess the only way I would agree with hunting if its not for food would be if the animal was a danger to people and there population was growing way to big. Like alligators

Wish I knew....they say it's a sport.  I think the animals should have guns too.  If your not going to eat it,  don't kill it!  That's just my opinion.

I come from a family that has been hunting since the days where it was necessary. I'm now a city girl and do not hunt. For the record true honorable hunters DO eat what they kill. Some even have the meet processed with their own money at a plant and then donate the food to shelters. It is sort of a "sport" but I think it's tradition.

People hunt to gather meat, just like our ancestors did. We also hunt to help control the populations. The animals have rights too.

In my opinion hunting is just wrong. People say its a sport but if you you are over weight and out of shape whats the sport? I just hate hunting 100% I have always have and always will. What did the deer to to the hunters? Control the population? Who is brain washing you with that junk. Leave mother nature up to population not fat men with guns!!
