I don't believe in conspiracy theories, generally, but I am sure there is a shadowy group of individuals somewhere who do.

Why would you call someone who suspects wrongdoing, and covering up of something "shadowy"? And would you still consider them "shadowy" if what they say turned out to be true?

Oh dear, you missed the joke. I hope that was a deliberate act.

In 1967, when Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt went spear fishing, he disappeared and was never seen again. It created a furor and was big news overseas as well as in Oz.

At that time I worked in Sydney's Chief Telegraph Office and sat with an American journalist who wanted his story sent to the US. The only line I really remember from it was, "If an American president had wanted to go swimming he'd have done it with a team of Secret Service agents who would make sure there were no card-carrying Commie sharks in the vicinity."

I don't think Holt was drowned. I don't think he was taken by a shark. I think a CIA black ops team captured, took him off in a submarine. and are still holding him in a closed room in Gitmo. There he permanently wears an iron mask so that he can never be identified.

I know there certainly have been times where a conspiracy was hatched (like Watergate& it's cover up. ). Generally however, I'm not a huge conspiracy theorists.
