They're proposing the same thing in Philly. The beverage companies and the sellers of soda are vigorously fighting it.
The obesity rate is a pretty "big" problem. It's not as bad in California, especially on the coast compared to other places like Mississippi and throughout Appalachia. But we saw an increase which is a terrible thing for public health and healthcare in general.
Billions are spent to take care of health issues that could easily be avoided.
