1700 was quiet an eventful year! Perhaps some of the most important events that occurred included the world population reaching seven hundred million, the Act of Resumption being passed with regard to Ireland and most importantly the start of the Industrial Revolution. One of the most striking episodes was the earthquake that took place, known as the Cascadia Earthquake, the biggest recorded, and the Tsunami that followed.

The Tsunami was recorded in Japan and the American First Nations. Then there was the great fire in Ethiopia's capital Gondar, engulfing two palace complexes as well. The Spanish political equation saw power passing from the hands of the Habsburgs to the Bourbons. Sweden is faced with a coordinated attack by Russia, Poland and Denmark; this was the start of the Great Northern War.
