In 1939.  Germany invaded Poland from the west, while the USSR invaded from the east.  It was a backroom deal with Hitler to bifurcate Poland.  Nobody seemed to be interested in the Soviets involvement. Nor do they do today.  Germany later invaded USSR in June 1941
