The primary difference between social and cultural change is one basically related to time and region. Social changes that persist over long durations of time and are imbibed and generally accepted lead to cultural change in society. Moreover, social change need not be restricted to any particular region and can sweep across continents. Cultural changes are more region-specific to the extent that people of a particular culture inhabit a particular geographic area.
