They have earthy colours, there are usually patterns, they are tribal, they can be made of clay, mud, stone, wood, leather, animal hide etc, they can be intimidating, sometimes they have animal/horsehair, they have large facial features, there are animal references like horns, they are costume items, and they're primative.
