Will people on welfare be getting stimulus for Christmas?

I heard that DSS is giving stimulus money to families receiving Welfare or food stamps. On Dec 8th, and I'm not sure about the amount, but I heard $400 per child....It's stimulus money from the Obama money Governor Paterson just announced.

The only people that get the money are people who are on social security or a veteran. As for when they start giving them out l get answers tha do not mean anything. L suggest that you wait until they announce it on the news. They did the last two times.

I am on food stamps and medical for myself and my 11 yr old son; as I have been unemployed for thirteen months.  I filed my taxes in October because I had to pay, yet, I received the "stimulus" earned income rebate of $400.00.  One must report this as income; even though I had to use it to pay past due rent.  All at the same time I was arrested and told that I am facing welfare fraud charges - yet to be disclosed to me and I have to go to court on Christmas eve.  So how is this a "stimulus"  - I'm out $4500 (on bail) for which I had to borrow - no christmas presents under my tree.  Some kind of scam???

This is not true, welfare recipients nor food stamp recipients are getting any sort of Christmas stimulus...that is just a rumor that has been circulating on the internet, Check on snopes.

It's just a rumor. It's not happening. Do what I did and call the gov. Office! They are saying its just a rumor that was started on a blog back in October and they just got done looking into this because there have been a lot of complaints from th DSS. Therefore do not spend your bill money because you are expecting this so called stimulus because it's not happening.
