I am writing in personal experiance. I am as we speak going through an abcess tooth. It is by far the worst pain I have EVER felt in my life, even worse than having three children. Any ways the doctor told me last night had I waited to come in I would have been leaving my family to plan my funeral by today. It has already ran through my blood stream and ALMOST to my brain. It is the scariest thing I've ever been through. So I was treated with a drain put in and have to go back in a couple of days to have the infected tooth pulled. So here is my answer to can an abcess tooth cause death. YES YES YES get yourself treated right away.

My sister had a really bad abscessed tooth and the doctor told her if she had waited any longer to go to the doctor it would have killed her by either going to her brain or her heart, so yes an abscessed tooth can kill you, but I am not sure an abscessed tooth would cause joint pain so you should see a doctor.

Well I am no doctor, but an abscess is an infection and any infection left too long untreated can go into bloodstream and worse case is death from the infection.
