The Gangster Disciple handshake is unfortunately not very well known so I cannot inform you of what it consists of, however I can assume that a handshake within a gang may possible be private because it may be deemed as a secret code between gang members.

  • The Gangster Disciples: Who are they?
This Chicago-based gang was formed in the 1960s and is predominantly made up of African Americans. Some members are commonly known as GDs and they are such a huge group that some members have ventured into the US military.

  • What are their trademarks?
The majority of gangs will have a trademark color and symbol that they use to represent the gang so individuals know which gang they belong to. With regards to the Gangster Disciples, the colors they use to represent the group are black, blue and white.

There is one particular symbol linked to this gang which is the six pointed star. The six points of the star represent life, understanding, loyalty, knowledge, love and wisdom. It is also pictured very similar to the Star of David which of course is a symbol of the Jewish religion. In this case however, the reason it mirrors the Star of David is to pay respect to the co-founder of the gang, David Barksdale.

  • Gangster Disciple graffiti
This particular gang has their own form of graffiti that is linked specifically to them. For example, in most of their wall art they will display a heart with wings which in turn have three feathers on each wing. The wings are displayed around a six-pointed star, which I mentioned above was their trademark image. In most cases, they will display this type of graffiti in order to honor a member who has just died, or who has just been put into prison.

They don't handshake, they have a 40 oz. In one hand and a glock in the other.
Hopefully their guns go off and kill one another LOL
