The Nigerian public enterprises are of great importance to the development of the country, this is because most of the public enterprise are either owned fully by the government or partly owned by the goverment which means that whatever service they render to the public is at a reduce cost forcing the private counterpart to consider its price if it is on the high side.
Public enterprise act as a check or rival to the private enterprise in many ways, take for instance Luth, MMA etc the enterprises is partly and completely owned by the goverment as they applied but has been in contention for a very long time in the country and has been of great importance in the various field they operate, though the Nigerian factor comes into play as these enterprises are poorly managed by the personal place in charge of them. But nonetheless there role in the economy can never be over emphasized
