Whether or not a person should give up their own gains in order to save the lives of other creatures is not really a decision to be made by a group of others. This decision affects that individual person and should therefore only be made by that individual.

  • Vegetarianism or vegan-ism.
Some people believe that an example of giving up personal gains in order to save the lives of other animals or creatures is being a vegetarian or even a vegan. However, vegetarianism is not for everyone, although there are ways to be an ethical meat eater.

  • How to eat meat ethically.
The best way to eat meat ethically is to make sure that you don't buy any of your meat from a battery farm. You should try to make sure that all of your meat is organically farmed which means that the animals are raised on an open farm and given the best possible life.

You should also make sure that you buy all of your eggs and dairy products free range. Like the meat mentioned above, this also means that the hens and cows that produce the eggs and milk are allowed to roam free and are usually corn fed in the correct manner.

  • Arguments against.
There are some people who argue that it is not possible to ethically eat meat because they claim that the slaughter of an animal is not ethical or humane in any way.

However, my personal opinion and the opinion of many others is that we as humans have eaten meat from animals for millions of years. It is the natural life process and we need to do it to survive. Yes there are definitely more ethical ways to kill animals and raising them to have a good life is much better than ordinary methods that were used to kill animals for meat and other food sources.
