Well from what I see working in the healthcare industry is that it isn't a normal practice and I will tell you why. Dr"s especially ion the ER's are to afraid of getting sued because there are idiots out there that will sue for a funny look.The practice cover your ass medicine and order every test they can think off just to prevent a lawsuit. It is spreading to many more Dr's, because we are to litigious of a society.
