I am also studying the Renaissance. There are several, who I can name off the top of my head and actually know how famous they are.

Leonardo da Vinci - He painted Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, and was a skilled inventor.

Michelangelo - One of the greatest artists of all time. He was a sculptor/ painter and made the famous statue of David.

William Shakespeare - A famous English poet and play write.  He wrote plays such as Macbeth, Hamlet, and Romeo and Juliet.

Giotto di Bondane - This guy is not well known, but is considered the first out of all the great poets to contribute to the Italian Renaissance.

Raphael - Another great artist. I can't remember any of his works off the top of my head.

There are many more, but these are the most "famous" of them and important during the Italian and High Renaissance.
