What Does Probation Mean?
In an office place, probation is a position given to fresh employees. Usually probation period is anywhere from 30 to 90 days. During the probation period the employee is watched over closely, in order to; assess his/her improvement and efficiency skills. Apart from daily work routine, a check is also kept on the individual's interaction level with the rest of the employees. If, during this period the performance level has reached an excellence mark, the employee is given a lift as well as promotion, as defined by the company.
In terms of law, probation refers to a restricted suspension of a convicted offender. However, during this period the offender is under the supervision of a court appointed officer and is required to stay in the society. This probation is not some kind of mercy but is proposed for the offenders whose psychotherapy can be achieved by society care rather than custody.
