No.
If i died, and my most inner, private thoughts, desires and lusts were put out for auction, that would hurt everyone left behind.
And everyone deserves dignity, it doesn't matter if they're dead, if they were a terrorist, or an american president.

No. Would you want someone reading your old love letters? Probably not. Give them to his family!!

No. They should be donated to a national museum; the originals archived. They "belong" to nobody; they can be available for the world to see, embrace and live vicariously through the inspiration this man's life was. Printed in a book and sold for profit to be donated to an agency he would have chosen.

No. The love letters are extremely private from one person to another. This would be an invasion of a person's privacy whether they are still alive or deceased.  Although it would make for good reading, it would be unethical to do so. What goes on between two people during  the course of their courtship are their own private thoughts and expression of each others love.

Yes!   They won't hurt him; they won't hurt Jackie, and the money will go to Carolyn who needs some sort of comfort after losing the three people who bore such influence on who she is.    She may feel it is too personal for the world to see, but it is not her, and the "world" so to speak is what makes a politician happy.     This is what JFK chose, not her.

Sure why not, they auction everything else!

I think like us celebrities also deserve/holds right to privacy. So they are not supposed to be auctioned to make JFK feel shy or otherwise where ever currently he is.

NO.  His personal life should be kept that; personal.  People always try to make money on others lives.  Leave it be.

No, because even though he is dead it is his private life and business and should not be sold as a piece of nothing. Also it would upset and embarrass his family deeply.

People auction everything, and it has great interest to many people who collect letters, JFK and they aren't really that explicit.  Why not let someone purchase them who will take care of them like a collector, and all the parties are gone now anyway.

G'day

Thank you for your question.

I don't see why not. Presumably the person selling them is the person that he wrote to or one of her descendants.

No they weren't meant for the world to be seen otherwise he would have sent them via gossip column.

Sure, auction the letters if his daughter is good with it.  All involved parties are gone, with the exception of her.

No way. Those letters should be taken to a museum. Those letters are a party of history!

No! They are very personal and he WAS a human just like the rest of us. How would you feel if someone put your LOVE LETTERS up for auction?!
Anonymous Profile
Anonymous answered
Definitely NOT!! How dare you! 1st of all it's not your business. And second leave him and his family alone. They've been through alot and the next thing you want to do is put his love letters for auction. Now, that's just disrespectful and idiotic. Don not do that!!

NO..defintely not!  For heaven's sake, give the family some needed privacy!  There are just certain things you do not rummage through and expose to for the general public to see and have the tabloids make more accusations about the Kennedy's.

NO!!!!
Would you want a love letter you wrote to be seen by the public???
Um, i think NOT!
I know i wouldn't
besides... Who and why would you want some love letter?!?!?
To brag?!?!
I can sort of understand if a museum wants it, but still...
IT WAS HIS PERSONAL LETTER TO SOME GIRL!!!!!
NOT TO YOU!!! SURE HE IS DEAD, BUT I DONT THINK
HE WOULD LIKE PEOPLE TO GO AROUND READING
WHAT HE WROTE!!!!!

PLUS ITS RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL

so before you reply to my comment, write a love letter,
make a thousand copies of it (or more), and give them out...
Especially to people you know... Because everyone
knows who J.F.K is.
Anyways if you dont mind so many people reading your PERSONAL
love letter, reply to my comment, i dont care

would you want J.F.K  to sell your letters???
Again i think NOT!!!

As you can tell, his letters should NOT be auctioned off
plus he was assassinated, and you STILL want to auction off
the letters?!?!?!?

Then you must be a greedy, selfish, rude, mean person!
The idea of auctioning them!!
Ugh! Its revolting!!!!!
So if you still are for auctioning them off
all i can say is

HAVE A NICE LIFE!

No!  His daughter Caroline is still alive and has dealt with way too much in this life. Money and a family name can never comfort or make up for the great loss or lack of privacy she has endured. Let's her have her privacy. She lost her Father tragically and violently. It's none of our business.

I think it should be as much criminal to profit from another's personal life, whether or not they are a public figure (president or celebrity) , just as I don't believe the use of technology on the open market should grant access, BY ANYONE, except authorized company's, person(s), etc.. Or the opportunity to research a persons background or personal life.  WHERE DOES THE INVASION OF PRIVACY STOP AND WHEN OR WHY DOES IT BECOME A CRIME WHEN EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYONE IS AVAILABLE TO ALL

I believe that the old love letters should only be put up for auction to museums or things of the like. Those are peices of history and tell many stories about our past president. The auctions, in my opinion, should not be open to the public to attempt to purchase the letters. Those letters need to be used for educational purposes, for the sake of history, that is why I believe that only museums should have access of purchase the letters.

Definitely not. This is personal stuff that he's meant to keep for himself. He has all his secrets in there. I don't suppose you would like someone auctioning off your journal and revealing to the public all your secrets and thinking.
P.S. I don't know who JFK is, but my final answer is no.

No! Those are for JFK and whoever he wrote them to.If you wrote a love letter would you share it to the whole world.JFK should get just as much respect as you and me.Just because their old does not mean that their not private anymore.I think you should lock up his love letters because it would be showing all his emotions to the world.I do not think any one deserves that.Do you?Well I hope you take this into consideration.

I didnt think the thick womanising war monger could write in amazed he sent any love letters, He prob had his murdering brother do them for him, before he left his girl friend to drown in the car he drove into the river, when he ran away after a drinking spree...

Why?  Letters  addressed to individuals are personal. If you thought your letters were ultimately going to be on public display, would you write them?
Anonymous Profile
Anonymous answered
No they should be given to his daughter; they are not for public view and scrutiny.

No. It is a private matter that should be laid to rest,He is no longer with us, as nor is Jackie, or John Jr, but Caroline and her children are the ones who would have to take the brunt of these accusations.
