What do u think about all these refugees coming to the USA? More free handouts while USA citizens get zero. Here in TX the republicans are giving illegals from Mexico free college while I have to pay if I want college.

Well, I, for one, don't like it one bit. We have veterans that we need to take care of first, not last. We have homeless people that are not receiving any benefits and need our help as well.

I'm not sure why everyone is so afraid of offending Muslims or  immigrants from other countries that are sneaking across the borders and getting all of the benefits that should go to our own people first.

It makes me mad that our people have to wait, but the others do not. They whine and go to the press. Or the press hypes up how long they've been detained. The entire situation has gotten completely out of control.

Until someone is willing to put their foot down and put the US citizens first, this will continue to get worse.

Thank you. The whole situation just irritates the heck out of me. I do not understand what is so wrong about giving our own citizens benefits over everyone else. This is not being selfish. You must take care of your own house before you extend the helping hand to someone else.

Somewhere along the line, this got screwed up. I don't really care how it got screwed up or who had their hand in it. Just fix it NOW please!!!!

Frankly, think the "benefits" illegals might be getting have been wildly exaggerated by a bunch of xenophobic folks who are incapable of looking anything up and depending of Fox for info. And stop and think about things. The statement "Here in TX the republicans are giving illegals". Horse pucky - republicans are never "giving" anyone anything and are busy mostly demonizing illegals and wanting to ship them all home, especially the Texas GOP.

I think you don't understand the law. The Dream Act in Texas allows illegals to pay in-state tuition given that they sign an affidavit agreeing to pursue legal citizenship when they graduate. Now who in their right mind wouldn't want to be a citizen? So it's paying in-state tuition vs paying out-of-state tuition if they lived for 3+ years in the state. No big deal.  You're blowing it out of proportions. I graduated with $100k in college debt. Was it worth it? Heck yes! Am I complaining down the line with all given all the opportunities it exposed me to? Heck no!

United States citizens get zero? Not even close. They get more than the typical person living on this planet. More like they don't want to use all the opportunities to their advantage. America is great with the fact that your struggles and successes are all determined by YOU and what you decided to do with your time.

Want to go from a  ghetto public school to college into making 80k+ a year in your early 20s? I could give you a few steps and if you follow it to the core I guarantee you will get there if not close to it.

America is all about personal choices. But people prefer wasting their time blaming their struggles on other people.

We don't live in a caste system like India. You want to see real people who DON'T have opportunities?

I'm not asking about you am I? I'm asking what's your average white American in rural country whose family has lived here for countless generation doing? They're aware of all the opportunities, speak perfect English (hopefully), and aren't faced with social prejudice. No ones stealing anything from them. They're just not taking their opportunities to do something for themselves and then get mad when others use those opportunities.

I've told a lot of people that if your skill set is such that some illegal can sneak in from another country and take your job, I'd rather have the illegal. You have countless ways to have bettered yourself that the illegal didn't have, yet you have taken advantage of none of them. The illegal is obviously motivated to improve himself. You are a useless lump.

I think taking in a bunch of people from an area known for terrorism without doing background checks is a mistake. I grew up in Florida and remember the Mariel Boatlift in 1980. Cuba "let" 125,000 people leave and they came into south Florida. While most were good people trying to improve their lives, there was also a fair number that Castro exiled. He thinned out his over populated prisons and mental institutions by putting them in with the good people coming over.

I can pretty much guarantee something similar is happening with the Syrian refugees. Why else do you think that some many riots are happening in the camps they are asked to go into? I would think most would be happy to have a cot and some food while paperwork is filled out, so they can begin their lives somewhere else. Only those that have something to hide would fight that.

I think we should let in as many immigrants as possible, while still putting US citizens first.  Think of it this way- Say that the U.S. Was a terrible terrible place to live.  Wanting to escape the horrors, you try to move to Canada.  Once you get there, they turn you around and make you go back to the violence and poverty.  I know this may not be true for all immigrants, but it's my opinion.
