I didn't run out of candy, got some left over.

I had about 25 kids and 10 adults for the annual Rug Rat Porch Party at Hippy's House. We all had a blast. The kids ranged in age from 1.5 years old to 9 years old. The costumes were great and most of the girls dressed up as various princesses. Most of the adults were in costume also.

When I lived at our long time home here we were a tight neighborhood. We all sat out in the street together & talked while we passed out candy.

It wasn't as many kids as I expected since it was a Saturday and nice weather here.  I gave out squeaky rats along with the candy and the kids were thrilled.  They walked away filling the air with enthusiastic squeaks.  I gave two older boys a bunch of candy and a bloody arm and foot.  (I'm moving so I'm getting rid of my decorations).  Still much candy left.

Rural, so didn't have any. So I have to eat the dozen Hershey with Almond bars I purchased just in case. Ah, who am I kidding. I knew there wouldn't be any kids and got the bars for myself.

I have way too much candy left over! I moved to this neighborhood just 3 months ago and didn't know what to expect. We only had about 20 kids and I was telling them to take 2-3 pieces of candy and they all looked at me funny, and asked if I was sure. They all came at once too. It is like all the families with kids got together and went out as a group, which considering where I live is semi-rural and surrounded by woods id a great idea. We have had recent bear sightings. Two weeks ago there was one in my backyard.

Halloween hasn't really taken off in Oz, despite the best efforts of retailers to create a Halloween market over the past 20 years. We had nobody last night, only two teens last year (both bigger than me) just one the year before that, and those three are my lifetime total. It's not worthwhile stocking up on sweets -- I'd end up either eating them myself or throwing them out.
