What do you think about what Bill Maher said that France was a major terrorist target after the bombings of ISIS? He acted like it was France's own fault for what happened. What do you think? Maybe I interpreted it wrong.

I don't pay any attention to him, because he is usually says things to get people riled up.  However, ISIS themselves said that France would remain a major target.

The moral of this story is that the Middle East needs to be ruled by brutal dictators and we shouldn't bother trying to introduce democracy.

I'm in a bad place and I feel like the only answer is to drive the Muslims out of Europe and the U.S.  Look at the Tsarnaev's.  Their parents came as refugees and the kids became terrorists.  There's no hope with these people.

I interpreted his words the same way you did. To be honest, it really doesn't matter if France was in Muslim lands or not. People like ISIS have made it clear that we must either convert to Islam or die. From my understanding, the bombings from France and other nations were in response to ISIS aggression. It was a heartbreaking situation altogether. My prayers are with the people of France.

Bill Maher is an idiot. After reading this question I went and watched the video from his show Friday night. He has no idea what is going on and seems to think that the US is the only Army in the middle East fighting ISIS and other terrorist. I can tell you as the wife of an Army officer who husband was stationed a CENTCOM that even though he could not discuss anything with me I could see the uniforms of many countries there, We lived in an apartment complex that had a good number of diplomat tags.

Bill Mahar has an oversimplified view of what goes on in the world. He said we need to get the countries from that region to fight ISIS. I can tell you I have met or seen many officers from those countries doing just that.

The last I heard there were nine countries supposed to be bombing ISIS targets which either means they're lousy shots or they don't have the right intelligence to pinpoint the right places to bomb.
Who could stand up to the bombardment of nine countries? Something not right there.

ISIS isn't in one place. It is scattered with many cells. That is how it keeps popping up, and doing so in many countries. While bombing in Syria happens, it doesn't do anything about those in other places. It is like trying to kill an large ant pile. You can put stuff on it that will kill what is on top but tose underneath will burrow down and come up somewhere else.

Or you can completely dig it up and poison in and around it. The problem with this second scenario is it destroys everything around out, and other ants have already moved on to start another nest somewhere else.

And that is exactly what ISIS has done. They have branched out from the middle East to Europe and I am sure thay are in the US, and probably Australia, Asia, and down through Africa. I suspect we will see more of these cowardly attacks throughout the world.

It was obvious after Jihadi John was wiped out that "they" had knowledge of many targets but nothing had been done. He had been followed for more than a week according to the UK newspapers so in that time even more info must have been gathered about targets including one map that had an arrow pointed to ISIS HQ and yet it had not been destroyed.

Yes they have seeded themselves throughout the world deliberately in order to try to attempt more horror and ultimately gain control of governments.

If you cut the head off a snake then the body dies. If the leaders are wiped out then it will be more difficult for them to organize themselves, cut off the source of money and they'll have problems just sustaining themselves. For every person in France they killed or wounded there should be a thousand bombs dropped in whatever country they have established a stronghold.

All of the European countries are targets as is the US.  They already bombed the tubes and buses in London some time ago.  These people can wait they will wait until our guard is down and strike again and again.  They have a particular grudge against France since they banned the burka and then of course there was the Charlie Hebdo massacre and they see the French way of life with bars and drinking being normal as offensive.

This is not going to stop until drastic action is taken.  It's time for the governments to stop talking and shaking their heads, we've been invaded without a single shot being fired.  The doors were flung open and the red carpet rolled out for these people and this is the result.

Bill Maher is as dumb as Bill O'Reilly. ISIS is doing to France the same thing that the IRA did to Britain. Its not about religion. Its about a terrorist organization brainwashing lower-class citizens into thinking that the only way to solve their problems is to blow up other people. LRA, IRA, ISIS, it doesn't matter. These people are insane regardless of their religious background. I'm so sad for France and I hope they get the situation resolved soon. However I agree with the other answers, Maher seems to think America is the only one who can save the world from "Muslims" but I think France is tough enough to handle their terrorists by themselves. France won't let these terrorists get away with this and they won't need any help exacting justice.

I lived in Paris too and there were no go zones where the police would not venture. We all knew where it was not safe to go and every single time there was a violent incident on the Metro it was the work of these people.
Britain has it's no go zones for non Muslims too, in some cases they've taken over entire towns. The governments in both countries have allowed this to happen.

I guess that's what happens when you don't allow people to integrate /: but I agree with Annabelle in that the Paris police will handle this quickly

Then perhaps the police should start looking in the areas they have been avoiding until now.

Didn't watch it.  Seldom watch news programs on TV anymore ... They're ALL so biased.

However ... Did France "ask for it"?
I guess that would depend on how you viewed France using military power to bomb ISIS targets.

Seems to me, that's a declaration of war.  And I don't recall any rule of warfare that says SideA has to keep getting hit, without retaliating against SideB.  Nor any rule that says civilian casualties from aerial bombardment is "okay" - but from ground assault is "bad".

So if you're going to use military force against somebody ... ANYBODY ... You better expect those chickens to come home to roost.

ISIS have already declared war on the infidels wherever they can find them they've made that very clear. Any action on the part of France or any country under threat is, therefore, defense.
