Shelby, it's part of a global terrorist campaign by ISIS.

Although their stated objective is the establishment of an Islamic Caliphate in Syria, Iraq and the Levant, their funds are being channelled in from supporters across the globe. By striking at Paris (and other places) they not only gain support from those radicalised Muslims (a minority of the Muslim population) who hate the West, they are able to inspire wanna-be jihadist's to travel to Iraq to fight.

As a by-product they are able to express their hatred for us by killing us. And, wherever they go, they destroy. They're the human equivalent of a swarm of locusts.

This is the second major attack on Paris. The other was against Charlie Hebdo, a satirical French magazine, whose staff were murdered by ISIS terrorists in January.

You are correct in asking the question because there is so much bullsh1t being broadcast about it -- TV channels love major disasters which give them cheap news and allow them to exploit the feelings of those people who enjoy wallowing in disaster -- that it's hard to sort out the reality from the hyperbole.

If you want to stay in touch may I suggest reading a news source like The Guardian or The Huffington Post and stay away from tabloid television channels like Fox.

I haven't seen that, yet. I don't know if you saw Tora Tora Tora which was, in my opinion, the best of the Pearl Harbor movies. There was a line at the end where the Japanese admiral (Yamamoto, I think) said, "I fear that all we have done is to waken a sleeping giant and make him angry."

It may be that ISIS have done this with France who may not have distinguished themselves in WW2 but have a strong and warlike history. It's time the world's nations decided to wake up and take these bastards out altogether.

It is sad to see how bad people have become.  God has promised to remove all traces of wickedness from the earth.  Psalm 37:9-11 "For evil men will be done away with."
