I could be very wrong but I think the ear drums still vibrate for a while, but the brain doesn't perceive it. This is something that I have heard. I welcome anyone to correct me on this and would appreciate it.

Yes ... the eardrums vibrate ... just as ANY organ of your body will vibrate with harmonious frequencies even after your death. It's a matter of an outside force causing the vibration. Just as stones will vibrate with certain frequencies.

The answer to your question is found in the tale of two pilgrims who stood over Beethoven's grave, heads bowed in rapt devotion. After some time the first pilgrim turned to the other and said, "Can you hear music?"

"Yes. It's Beethoven's Fifth."

"But it's being played backwards."

"Of course," said his friend. "He's de-composing."

That's what your body will do when you die. It will decompose.

Nope, not at all. That's pretty much the definition of death: The complete absence of any signs of life.

We could mention that certain organs and tissues can be transplanted independently from deceased donors and function long beyond the donor's death. Maybe that would apply here.
