Never had any problems like that. I fought with black men and Hispanics and we lived like brothers. I've lived among Japanese, Koreans, Native Islanders, Filipino's, dang, you name it. I learned something from all of them and I hope I taught them things also. All men are created equal no matter race, religion, whatever. Anyone who doesn't believe in this then it's time to grow up and face today's world. Racism and I do NOT get along well. Pure stupidity. Capisce'?.
I've fallen for someone outside my race and I've experienced racism for the first time today :/ it was something. It was probably small by comparison.. Tell me your story?
Being born a Jew, I was the recipient of a few racist comments when I was a kid, many years ago. It hurt more than a stick in the eye.
I've never experienced "racial" prejudice personally but have witnessed it. I have experienced prejudice when someone finds out I'm atheist. "stupid" is one of the most common terms applied to me, something I can assure I am not, also even at work I am seen as a person that should not be in my position. But they don't win.
My son, who is biracial, didn't really experience racism until he entered high school. He was called n*gger on many occasions, taunted relentlessly and provoked into fighting a white kid who wouldn't give up. So they fought off school grounds. The white kid that taunted him into fighting brought 20 friends with him - my son brought 2. The kid sucker punched him - the other kids pull out their cell phones and begin taping the fight.
My son is a big kid - but he was worried that if he really punched the guy's lights out what the other 20 kids would do to him. A car passing by hollered at the kids to stop or he'd call the cops. So they disperse. Videos are now uploaded to YouTube. When my son gets back to school, one of his black friends saw what happened and told him to report the fight to the principal. The principal was successful in getting the videos taken down, but not until a whole bunch of people saw my son getting sucker punched and brought down.
We've had other ugly incidents. We won't go to Denny's after their treatment toward my son. His dad and I attempted to go to a movie theatre in Iowa to see The Color Purple in the 80's. When the movie was over, we were followed by the police until we crossed the state line into Nebraska. The movie was in Council Bluffs, Iowa - we lived in Omaha, NE.
I could go on and on, but I taught my son to keep his head up, his lip zipped and to be respectful - no matter what the color. It does get hard sometimes, but true character will show through any mistreatment.
I am a muslim
it is chaos...
I'll keep this short and sweet. I don't care what other people think. I never have and I never will. One's skin color doesn't figure into my thinking when I'm about to fall in love.
