Is it reasonable for the US to seize $2 billion of Iranian assets? This money to be used as compensation for the victims of terror attacks originating from, or funded by, Iran?

Although I have much sympathy to the families of victims of terrorism, I don't think singling out one nation for reparation is the thing to do. How about the nation mostly responsible for 9/11 ? So many other countries and organizations are also responsible for all these deaths. I think it's time that we mend our fences with Persia and move on. We were once allies, I would rather have them as an ally than an enemy. Most of that money would wind up in the wrong pockets anyway. I'm against that idea. Do they have real proof that Persia was behind these attacks? Or just speculation. The world is changing again and I don't think this is a good idea.

In real terms, if the US were looking for compensation it would do better to go after the Saudis who have (usually, but not always unknowingly) funded much of the terrorism around the world.
