I miss my Mom every day and she worked hard raising us and was never lazy. I think of her every day.

VJ Day was a great day as we finally ended WW2 once and for all. The Japanese were tough soldiers and it was a bloody victory.

Living in Okinawa as a child we would find some really terrible things in some of those caves like human bones and such.

I can imagine. Probably why the Japanese declared Iwo Jima a national shrine. So many buried in those caves.

When I first saw this photo as a child, I cried. It still takes my breath away.

I'd also like to take a moment and be mindful of our victory over Japan.

My favorite flavor is "Victory" 'Honor" "Patriotism" "Loyalty"

I go with VJ day.

If it wasn't for such victories, our mothers wouldn't have the time of peace to be lazy nor we dared to have right to choose our favorite popsicle.

To any occasion of war. We owe to all of those men and women who fought for us. For our lives, our safety, freedom and principles and our flag. And this is our responsibility to carry the memories and duty to continue protecting ourselves. So our mothers could have time to be lazy and enjoy their popsicle in flavor of freedom and comfort.

Dear Otis,

I choose VJ day.

Not to celebrate military victories as such, but the brave soldiers on ALL sides who fought and died for their country.

When I was maybe eight years old, the Battleship Missouri came to Bremerton, WA and our whole family went to see it...here is the Missouri September 2, 1945 where General MacArthur signed the formal surrender with Japan. There is now a plaque over this spot.

I just read the USS Missouri is now in Pearl Harbor, alongside the memorial for the USS Arizona.

Does being a lazy "dog mom" count? I am having a lazy day even if it doesn't. It is overcast and quiet. Perfect for relaxing.
