Anything is possible .. It could also be possible that their interest is shallow and superficial, and not as clearly interested as you anticipated. The only thing that is clear is that (for whatever reason) they are no longer interested.
If someone clearly likes you but have yet to say it, then they suddenly seem distant and uninterested... Could that be due to the family issues they have going on at home?
