Since today's forecast indicates our high temperature will be 20 degrees lower than what we have had over the last 180 days my (free) thought is to make a batch of warm gumbo today.

Gumbo is one of those "create as you go meals items". According to Wikip: Gumbo is a stew popular in the U.S. Gumbo consists primarily of a strongly-flavored, roux-based stock, meat or shellfish, a thickener, and what Louisianians call the "Holy Trinity" of vegetables, namely celery, bell peppers, and onions.
