The longest day in the northern hemisphere is June 21st, I believe, and London appears to be close to where we are on the map, so I would figure, it begins to get dark by 9 - 9:30Pm and days become shorter until it switches over again in Jan
It gets dark here in London about 10pm in June. I'm not sure what the other person meant by 'switch over' but nothing switches over in January. At the end of October we change our clocks back one hour or back to Greenwich Mean Time. At the end of March we put the clocks forward an hour into daylight savings (British Summer Time). The shortest day, and longest night, of the year is 21st December. By then it is getting dark around 3.30pm and completely dark by 5pm.
