Sonny Bono was born on February 16, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan in the United States. He was an American singer, song writer, actor, and politician. He died on January 5, 1998 as a result of a skiing accident.
He was on a ski vacation at Lake Tahoe resort in the state of Nevada. He was a rather experienced skier and while he was skiing, he decided to leave the normal ski trail to ski the deeper powder in the wooded area. While skiing in the deeper powder of the wooded area, he lost control and struck a tree head on. He suffered from head, back, and neck injuries that were life-threatening. He died almost immediately.
During his life, he was married three times. His second marriage was to Cher and the couple sang together and became popular as the singing duo Sonny and Cher.
