Pentagon is known as the symbol of the military of the United States. It is the name of the building that houses the head quarters of the Department of Defense of the United States.
It was built in the year 1943 and has been used since then it has been used by Department of Defense. Pentagon is the largest office building by area in the world. It covers an area of 28.7 acres in total. The Pentagon has five floor above ground level and two floors below the ground levels, which makes it 7 levels in all. The below ground floors are titled as B and M, where B stands for basement and M stands for Mezzanine.
On the other hand, the floors that are located above the ground levels are titled as 1,2,3,4 and 5. There is a shopping and residential facility close to the Pentagon which is called Pentagon city and the Crystal City. The Washington Metro Pentagon Station is also close by. It is also surrounded by the Pentagon Road Network.
