I'm actually looking for more information on this topic, but in Vietnam, it was hot and very humid, there were monsoon rains causing a lot of jungle. The climate there allowed there to be things like elephant grass, 8 to 10 foot tall grass that can cut your skin, and for people to get very sick from the heat.
