Before WWI, the status of women were very low and they were despised all the time. However, when the WWI broke out, men were enrolled to the battlefield,only leaving the old,the young and women at home. So at that time, it was women took over heavy responsibility for supporting the family from men. After WWI, the status of women was rising gradually.
