Why is it that extremists kill members of their own race/religion almost as often as they kill members of other races/religions?

How can we be objective when considering the motivations of lunatics? Perhaps proximity plays a role. Maybe they don’t see their prey as believers of the exact same kind, and are therefore not equals.

What is clear is that extremists seek to stake out their own piece of turf, expand their brand, and everyone within reach has to get with the program. Or else.

In terms of religion, this mindset in nothing new.

What extremists? Which Race/Religion?

White supremacists who are Christian will often do harm to black Christians . . . Either verbally or physically. More so in the south and in the early 40's and 50's and back then it ended with death in hangings . . . Usually.

Muslim extremist who take literal meaning with regards to "Death to the apostate" might consider other Muslims who do not take the Q'uran so literal to BE an apostate . . . Therefore their death is warranted.

Either way, we are taught to HATE  . . . Learning to hate a particular race or religion comes from indoctrinating the young to do so . . . Either by parents or an elder that acted as their mentor growing up, indoctrination to hate another for a difference of opinion or the color of their skin IS CHILD ABUSE.

Early instruction on "Coping" using only outside guidance (religion) leaves a child dependent on a belief system for instruction on how they will live their lives. You can brainwash a human being to do or believe just about anything.
