How Did The British Empire Improve Peoples Lives?

Well not all lives were benefited
for a british man settling in another colony he would benefit from having more power and being superior to black people and so they would be an upper class than they were in britain.
A slave however didn't benefit much, if they were a slave for a british settler their life would be slightly better I suppose but not great. They would benefit from having a place to sleep and a meal to eat which is better than the other slaves were treated.
