During the Holocaust, many Jews were able to survive due to the kindness of people who were against the Nazi regime and their ideals. A great example of this is Oskar Schindler who saved 1,100 Jews by allowing them to work in his factory and later moving them to a more secure location, where the conditions were almost like a 'haven' compared to the ghettos and concentration camps. Many people also hid Jews in order to protect them, even though it was of a great risk to their own lives and their families. The partisans were also important in saving Jewish lives and many Jews took refuge with them as they tried to fight against the Nazi movement.
Some skilled Jewish workers were also able to secure jobs within the regime and were able to survive in this way, although their lives were not always spared.
