Sweet 16 is the traditional birthday party for girls when they turn 16. This ceremony is arranged as a normal birthday party. It has to have a sweet 16 candle lighting ceremony. Where the birthday girl has to light 16 candles. She has to light each candle in representation of a person who has made a difference in her life. As each candle is lighted, she tells the people about each person and how he has made a difference in her life. Then she walks with her escort wearing slippers and without a tiara. The birthday girl along with her court of honor (selected couples) presents 1-2 dance routines. Then the father and the Godfather of the girls will bring two small pillows, one having her tiara and one with her shoes. She would sit in a special chair or swing and will change into the shoes and then wear her tiara. The father would then escort her to the dance floor and present her to the world by sharing a dance with her. After the dance the cake would be cut and the audience would sing dance and eat.
I was planning on keeping my daughter in hiding until all the guest arrive. Then I'm having the family announced, Mom & Dad first, then two little brothers, then my daughter will be escorted in by her older brother and seen for the first time by her guests. Then, I thought I'd have my husband do the first dance with her. Is this cool?? Please let me know what you think.
My Sweet 16 is coming up and I'm having my 10 best friends be in my V.I.P. (very important princess) court. They're all going to wear embroidered satin sashes that say VIP Court on them and they will be introduced by the DJ and will get to sit at the head table with me.
At a sweet 16 you must have a big ballon that has little ballons inside. also keep it low[[and try to get mad at her so she won't find out]]
