I have a few ideas for you, and first, thanks for asking.

I have a few suggestions that may offer you guidance in helping others during the holidays.  I am glad to hear that it is difficult to find a volunteering position as they are all filled up, but here will always be people in need that are unable to get the help they need.

Spend some time with a wounded veteran at the US Veterans Hospital in Tuscon on Christmas Day, or just help to distribute a holiday meal. You will see plenty of families there that day, but there will also be plenty of soldiers who are alone that day as well.

I know for sure that the US Veterans Hospital in Tuscon will have volunteers come in to help with a variety of Christmas events.  Check out this Google search result for contact information. Call and find out how you can help, they will either invite you down to volunteer or direct you to a group that will be there to help.

Also, this charity organization website provides links to places in Tuscon who may need volunteers.

Many places that have the man power might not have the supplies.  Donations of food are often needed at many soup kitchens and shelters.

Merry Christmas to you, and Happy Holidays to All. Good Luck!
