Nothing unusual here especially when youre talking about millions of tax payers dollars available to run for office or re election. This is freebie money and no politician would turn it down and be required to use their own money, no way

I understand your point but most top tier presidential candidates are opting out of this money since it limits the total amount that they can raise and spend.
