Gandhi- Jinnah talks failed for a no. Of reasons. Gandhi introduced the quit india movement & urged Jinnah to help the congress move the british out of india. Partition would be dealt with afterwards. Jinnah disapproved this as their was no guarantee that Congress would PartitionIndia after the departure of the british.
Another major reason was that GAndhi wanted the central government to have powers over key issues. Jinnah wanted these issues to be in the hands of the provinces.
Gandhi considered himself speaking for thw whole India & oppossed the 2 nation theory. Jinnah reminded him that he was the speaker of congress only & that 2 nation theory was muslim leagues foremost policy.
Thus Gandhi-Jinnah talks failed.
