Black people calling each other Monica?
I don't think you're quite with it here..
They're not calling each other 'Monica" but rather, using the expression 'mah niggah' - which is sort of a racial slur, but is deemed acceptable within the black community because it is used by rappers and other role models, and there is a pseudo-argument that this is somehow empowering and allowing black people to reclaim the N-word from its vile historical significance.
But I don't really think that is the case, and I will continue to ignore people that use this word, or even people that make lame jokes about it by pretending they think people are saying "Monica" when they obviously aren't...
