Here are some tips about how to make a good Elementary school speech.
-Jokes: Try and add some jokes in to your speech. You don't need to go too overboard and force things, but try and keep it light-hearted. People will be more interested and engaged if it is not too serious.
-Practice: Practice your speech. Lots! Make sure you are familiar with the content and what you are saying. Time yourself too, so you know exactly how long it lasts, then you won't be worried on the day about it being too long or too short.
-Slow down: When we are nervous it is natural to speed up the way that you talk. Don't! Remember that people are hearing your speech for the first time, so in order to really take it in they need to be given time to take in what you are saying. Make a conscious effort to speak slowly and clearly, and it will be much easier for you to get your message across.
