Lots of girls like it when boys hold doors for them and offer to carry their bags. How is this acceptable if we want to be a truly gender-equal society?

What do you intend to do, outlaw the practice?

@John....you do know I was joking right?! I agree with you, don't want chivalry outlawed, I rather enjoy it!

Yes, I knew YOU were joking and that is why my comment was addressed to Kasandra Kk, who was either not joking or being a bit of a smart a@@.

Chivalry seems to be a dying art.....unfortunately. I for one am a female who appreciates those type of things, makes me feel special! I absolutely let my man know that I appreciate those things. Now, would I do the same for a man? Sure I would! Although I don't think it has the same effect!

Girls should least thank the guys who do that stuff for them such as holding doors, carrying things for them..I guess it wouldn't hurt to do the same in return for guys.

There's nothing wrong with treating someone like a queen, or king. The question makes sense now because some women still want to be sugared to. I think once we get women doing the same things men do (holding doors open for their boyfriends, complimenting their partners, etc) then maybe it won't seem as bad.
