Why is Obama taking a dual focus on the ISIS problem, and including getting rid of Mr. Assad? Wouldn't it be better to focus on ISIS first and then if necessary, worry about Assad?

The U.S. Shouldn't have gotten involved in Iraq to begin with.  ISIS is an offshoot of Al-Qaeda in Iraq.  Everything in the Middle East is a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't.  Ignore brutal dictators, then Muslims get mad that you are supporting an oppressive regime.  Help overthrow them, they are replaced by sociopaths who are even worse. It's always a lose-lose there and perpetual conflict.

Assad (or his father, anyway) had a long history of supporting terrorism. That's why Obama wants to be rid of both of them.

We will never rid the world of terrorism. Destroying 1 group only spawns another.  Religion has been the reason for far to many deaths

Over the past 2000 years .

And for some, they don't need a reason , only opportunity ,

it really doesn't matter who we are after , more rats will run out  after the main rats are gone , and they stand in line at the chance to kill themselves and take as many innocent as they can with them.. Showing the TRUE COWARDS THAT THEY ARE.

Perhaps because international relationships, diplomacy, and conflict are far more complicated than a simple "this" or "that". The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend -- especially in the Middle East where allegiances change with the wind.
