Yes, both.
Like the rest of the human race, I probably have problems dealing with the "unlike".
But I don't dislike anyone purely on the basis of their race or sexual orientation.
(I do hate cats!)
No I haven't. My paternal grandmother was horribly racist. Even as a young child, I saw how unfounded her opinions were. I'm grateful neither I, nor my brothers, hold those beliefs. The cycle was broken.
Yeah, I have been a few times. Mainly by people who really didn't know me or like me. Or just misunderstood me. Kind of ticked me off because I'm not in the least racist or homophobic and my friends know this.
Not homophobic, but I had a classmate who said "You're white. You're racist." I have actually run into a few black people who have felt that way.
Nope, I have not. I guess I must not say or do anything that would allow someone to think that.
I'm a Rainbow 🌈 lover.
I see friends.
When folks accuse me. I make it crystal clear. It your foolish butt I dislike. Nothing to do with race. In other words, if I don't like you it has nothing to do with race. Its you I don't like.
I don't support homosexuality, so yes, I do get accused of being homophobic.
No.
My heritage is Irish.
I have a reputation for not seeing someone's color.
I have been referred to as an "honorary" black man.
"Homophobia is the hatred or fear of homosexuals."
I had to look that up to be sure. I finally gave up trying to understand homosexuality a few years ago. (But, I also gave up trying to understand what it felt like to carry a child and give birth---kind of really impossible for a man to ever truly understand.)
So if someone says they are "gay," my only response is "OK......," with the implied question of "Why is that important to either of us at this time?"
No, I have never been accused of either of these two things.
