No, I don't have any neighbors. But I get along with the people who live closest.
Yes I do ! I had this wicked mean old man living next door to me that always gave me trouble and called the Cops on me when it was him saying rotten things. One day I came home from work for lunch and saw the Cops taking him away. Come to find out that he was a child molester . The neighborhood was shocked but I wasn't surprised at all. He got over 99 years in prison. Neighborhood has been quiet and nice ever since.
Many years ago when my kids were young, we had a "that" neighbor behind us. He would yell at the kids if they stepped foot on his lawn and always kept their balls, frisbees, etc., if they landed on his lawn. He was fanatical about digging up every single dandelion on his lawn. One day, he completely cleared his big lawn of dandelions and was bragging about it and chastising me for not digging up mine. That night, I had a few friends over for a poker game. After dark, a few hands of poker and a lot of beers, we all went out and picked 100's of dandelions off my lawn and sprinkled them all over his yard.
The next morning, my wife said that he was standing in his back yard just sobbing and crying in his coffee.
My neighbors are terrible conversationalists. All they say is, "Moo. Moo. Moo."
I don't really trust them.
Its seems wherever i live their is idiots. Loud music kids out of control so far this new place has been quite
We have had some doosies. One time, during a power outage .. The neighbor next door parked his running car on the lawn in front of their house with the brights on to illuminate their kitchen. One time when we lived in a condo .. The upstairs neighbors must have locked out their son. We looked out our window and saw him scaling the wall via our balcony/window to get to his place. In our last home, we lived between the "Clampetts" and the "Drysdales". One would have constant construction on their home to have it perfect and the other would seldom even mow their grass. Another didn't feel like going inside to use the toilet and peed on one of our trees in the backyard!! ARGH!!
I used to live next door to a hoarder. He hardly mowed or did regular maintenance on his house. His garage was so full of junk that when a side wall collapsed, the rest of the building stayed up. He didn't even try to repair it. I had to call the city on him. The only time I have ever done that.
Not so much anymore....when I lived out, I had constant dirt bike a 4wheeler traffic through my woods, noisy to the point I couldn't enjoy my nice country home outside for the noise and exhaust fumes off of them, neighbors kids being a pain, course the parents weren't any better....
I live in a small community in a mountainous area. There was a Meth bust a few years ago but it's mostly quiet and nice as three or four police officers live here.
I've always had good neighbors. One time I was sitting on my front porch and out of no where my neighbour came running out his front door and threw up in his planter. Then acted like he was checking the planter for weeds. I let him think no one was watching until he straightened up and made eye contact to which I stood up and gave him a standing ovation.
I was working one day on my 40th birthday. Unbeknownst to me my best friend decorated my whole house on the outside in over the hill, she's 40 paraphernalia. Even had huge signs on the lawn. She did it right when I left for work. The decorations were up all day. I came home and found the house in that way, with the neighbors driving by honking their horns, giving me well wishes on my 40th birthday. For months afterwards my neighbors would drive by and tease me about my age.
We had a "cat lady" neighbor. It got so bad with the cats thinking that our front yard was their litter box people quit coming over (not that we would invite anyone over in the first place cuz it was embarrassing.) It was horrible. We ended up being advised to get a cat trap and start catching them cuz it was not against the law to "feed stray cats" and that was how they got out of tickets. So we did but it caused even more tension between the two house holds. Slowly but surely the cats disappeared (or quit having babies).
Anyways, this story ends with a beautiful lesson. One day while I was taking Jr for a walk our neighbors adult daughter stopped me and asked a question. I automatically assumed something negative like she was gonna tell me I should not be walking in the middle of the road or something but she asked me if Jr had teeth yet. And she was curious because she was pregnant with her first baby and wanted to know about his age and teeth. I informed her that he was practically all done teething and it opened up a door I never knew could exist. We talked for about an hour, me and her and her mom who gleamed with happiness as her daughter talked about her first grand baby! God has a way of breaking down walls and mending fences. I would have never believed a year ago that I could have such love for these neighbors now. It is amazing how it is children who can make adults stop acting like children!
