A "world gone mad" is pretty much very old news---unfortunately.
Each generation notices a different set
of problems that were always there.
It's bonkers.
The world doesn't go mad, it's the human being, there are many kinds of people, so we are not the same like : The violence, madness, badness, avarice, or goodness, intelligence, dumbness etc,,, so all these characters make the world variable and look like mad.
Yes sad to say we live in a mad world with killings and and murders and people doing crazy things.
