See, this isn't making any sense to me, why is Texas trying to secede from the U.S. after Britain voted to secede from the European Union ? Texas would never want to leave if Donald Trump was president !

Texans have been mulling over secession for years. The news of Brexit reignited the talk of secession in Texas. Texas was an independent country until 1845.

Apparently the Californian secessionists have also been flexing their muscles since Scotland's attempt to leave the UK.

I read a little about that too Didge. Doesn't anyone have an original thought any more?

Texas is not alone. Take a look at California's secession plans.

An independent nation.

There was a "movement" in the 1990's, to split Oregon into 2 states ... basically, the Portland-metro area vs eastern Oregon.

As I've said for years ... the US is far too large to be one nation micro-managed by one city (Washington DC), due to the regional differences in values.

Hmm, We'd better hope Dreadful Donald doesn't get to read your post, Virginia.

Texas wants to be like the star on their flag. Alone. Can you say you blame them after what this once great country has turned into?

oh yeah, and I like Trump and all, but he'll never be able to fix the country as much as he'd like to in 4-8 years, plus you have to look at other people in office that will keep Trump from being all that he can be.

God forbid that Trump ever is "all he can be". Western Civilization already has enough problems. . :
