We have some local fireworks shows, they're pretty awesome. Those tents pop up on every available empty lot, selling the "safe" and legal fireworks just before the 4th.
well i live in a unincorporated city so their is fireworks stands everywhere but if take them five miles in any direction your in trouble
Yes, they are legal here.
At least, I think they are. I haven't had any company refuse to ship them to my address. Lol
When it was illegal to have ones that shot more than 18 inches off the ground in WA ... Everyone bought them in OR or off the Indian Reservations, anyway. From personal experience - Police didn't enforce the law, and just told kids to be careful. (Even when you accidentally shot their car with a Saturn Missile Battery. LOL)
Personally ... I think fireworks should be covered under the 1st Amendment. I mean, if burning the flag in protest is covered under the 1st Amendment - why isn't lighting fireworks in celebration?
A few cities around me allow fireworks. We have a lot of firework shows in my city. We either will go to a show or I'll go to a friend's house, whose boyfriend puts on a firework show every year. He gets more excited than the kids.
The big ones were illegal in IL .. Not sure about VA. I do see lots of fireworks stands so I have a feeling they're more lenient here.
The cities are still allowed to have their big displays since they're more regulated than people shooting them off themselves.
No, not in my city.
They are legal where I live now. Before I moved back to Florida the town I lived in while we lived in Kansas had outlawed everything including sparklers. In the 90s there was a building boon and many of the new houses had cedar shingle roofs. I guess no one had thought about what would happen when bottle rockets and such landed on them until several house fires started. After that everything was outlawed. The city did put on a great show though.
They are legal in the area where I live, and there is a firework stand on almost every corner.
