Yes. Brave men and women.
Can a person support our military fighting overseas, but not support the people sending them over to fight?
Dear Zack,
I think at some point we all need to come to grips with that Q...
Yes coming of age in Vietnam era I have always done that.
Plus living five years in Iowa, the heartland...there is always a veterans' memorial even in towns so tiny they don't even have a grocery store...back to the Civil War and before when Iowa had critical stations on the Underground Railroad. No soldier sacrifice is ever forgotten.
Whatever mixed motives or ulterior motives, or military-industrial complex of our government; when Iowa sends men and women to fight it is always for truth, justice and freedom.
Yep, what Gator Blue said. There's a difference between supporting the troops in general and agreeing with every military decision our government makes.
I support our soldiers and sailors. They have chosen to put our country before their own lives. I believe most of them do so out of strong sense of duty and patriotism.
I do not always support where they have been sent or the reason behind it, meaning the politicians and their questionable motives.
That depends on your reason for not supporting the fighting.
If you think it is illegal or violates international treaties ... Then you should NOT support the military, either. Since they also have a duty to resist illegal orders - per the Nuremberg Trials at the end of WW2.
You may also think of it this way: If I hire a bully to beat you up - is the bully any less guilty than I am?
Well if you can sit or kneel for the National Anthem when you are still young and healty---why couldn't you?
