They brought knowledge, they brought traditions and religion. They modernized the colonies by building railways and roads, bridges. They also created governments in India for instance which made laws and made it harder for criminals to convict crimes. They abolished slavery and child-murder in China for instance and they built up their country. Many blames Britain for taking resources and using slavery and so on but of course they needed money to build up an army that could protect and maintain their kingdom. They saved life in Europe during the winter when it gets cold and is therefore harder to cultivate. We saved many lives and brought knowledge all around us so of course the British empire ruled!

British empire good in some aspects. They collected raw materials from colonies and sent to Great Britain. The raw materials were finished in big factories of Great Britain with the help of huge machinery's. The need for new machines resulted in the inventions of huge machines and which paved the way for industrial revolution, Urbanisation etc. Acceptance of English language as universal language is another advantage. Disintegrated countries were united under British regime is another merit.
